Sustained By Grace, Strengthened To Go Forth
When we gather for worship, we make a commitment to engage. Hearing the Word connects us to God’s active presence throughout salvation history and in the present moment. We interpret Scripture and apply it through prayer and preaching. Celebrating with gorgeous music inspires us to raise our voices in song. We encounter Christ in the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist and then go out into the world, rejoicing in the power of the Spirit. When we worship together, we commit to showing up: both for one another and for a larger faith community that insists on the radical power of Love to enliven our hearts and change the world.
There are two options for worship on Sunday mornings. Our contemplative, spoken Holy Eucharist at 9 am takes place in our side chapel. At 11 am our congregation expands. We encourage participation throughout the liturgy. Incense is often used, and some of the service is chanted. Our choir joins the celebration, leading us in seasonal offerings that deepen our experience of the Holy. A supervised area for learning and play is always available for children, and we welcome people of all ages and backgrounds into the sanctuary.
Morning Prayer is offered on Wednesday mornings at 8:30, followed by Bible Study at 9:15. On Tuesday evenings at 6:15 we offer contemplative Holy Communion with Bible Study woven into the service.
All are welcome, always. Worship is a time to deepen the faith within us and evolve in our understanding of ourselves as beloved children of God. Word and Sacraments strengthen our community as we grow together in the sacrificial, reconciling, lifegiving love of Jesus Christ.
