Once again members of the Church of the Holy Apostles joined Church of the Ascension and other parishes to offer water to participants in the 2018 NYC Gay Pride March. Located on Fifth Avenue at 10th Street, Ascension has a “front-row seat” to the parade! This year there were two teams: the Early Team which volunteered from 12:30 – 4:00 pm and the Late Team which volunteered from 3:30 – 8:00 pm. Enjoy the pictures! Thanks to John Indalecio and Steven Ragos for supplying the pictures. Want to add your pictures, just email them to Wendy Shepherd (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Here also are the comments from some of the participants:
A nice turnout from the Church of the Holy Apostles! More reasons to be “good” proud! — John I.
Thanks so much for the pictures and all your work organizing, John! I heard from many of the Ascension folks how glad they were for the steady stream of CHA folks helping out all afternoon. Holy Pride indeed!! — Susan+
Truly the best way to spend the day! Many thanks, John, and a special shout out to our gracious hosts/helpers at Ascension. Love will out! — Diane & Linda
What a great day! Thanks to all. — n.b.: A number of people receiving water said we were the only water stop they had experienced at that point in the parade. One woman said to me, “be sure to tell your people that, and that we are very grateful!” Blessings, Anna+
It was a glorious day. Steven and I feel so blessed to be part of such a generous and giving community. It was a joy to be part of the day with everyone!! — John V.
It was an awesome day! I would like to thank our host church too! They really were totally amazing! I especially loved my selfie with Cynthia Nixon! Highest Regards — Steven R. 🌈❤️💜🧡🖤💛💚💙
Amen to that! — Caroline C.
