Dear Members & Friends of Holy Apostles,

I'm not sure if it's "less priestly" of me to admit this, but a quote that has been on my mind lately doesn't come from one of the Gospels. Or something written in a spiritual classic. It comes from Coco Chanel. Perhaps, in the spirit of this Epiphany season, it's yet more confirmation that God often comes to us in the unlikely places.

"Fashion changes, but style endures."

We discern over time, often with no small struggle, what are those fashions that do change and what is that style that does remain. What is passing away and what is constant. What do we need to grow comfortable in letting go of and what do we need to cling to.  The question is the same for us as a faith community. What are those things at Holy Apostles that can and must change and what are those things without which we would not be who we are?  I hope in this new year that we as a community live more fully into that question. And, as we do, draw closer to God and one another.

Glenn
