Now in its sixth year, “Knit Indeed” involves the parish community in a common project to knit scarves. At the end of the effort the scarves, which are knitted from a provided kit, are donated to the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, just in time for the winter season.

Interested knitters and non-knitters gathered on Wednesday evenings for a “sit and knit” with refreshments, enjoying fellowship while making a gift for someone who is truly in need. Guided by parishioner Chad Rancourt, the founder of Knit Indeed, many who had never picked up knitting needles before were soon casting on and clattering away as their scarves grew in length. The Knit Indeed model scarf is designed to be a “quick knit” to make the project go quicker for experienced knitters and to help new knitters come up to speed.

In 2006, 40 participants created 55 scarves for our Soup Kitchen guests. The finished scarves were presented and blessed at the Parish Eucharist on December 4th.
