GLENN BURR CHALMERS

The Reverend Glenn Burr Chalmers, fourteenth rector of the Church of the Holy Apostles, began his tenure on May 1, 2009.

He has extensive experience and an abiding vocational commitment to urban ministry, from launching a congregation and outreach ministries in an economically disadvantaged neighborhood to directing a diocesan social service agency. Undergirding these experiences is a genuine passion for congregational life and its mission in the community."

Glenn Chalmers came to us from the Cathedral Shelter of Chicago, where he was executive director for the past twelve years. During his time there he has served as supply priest and as a popular guest preacher in the diocese and the region. Prior to moving to Chicago, he was rector of the Grace Episcopal Church, Lawrence MA, for seven years. Additional experience includes two years as director of program development, Episcopal City Mission, Boston, MA, and service as vicar, Grace Episcopal Church, Elizabeth, NJ.

We are filled with excitement and joy that the Spirit has brought us together with Glenn as our parish embarks on this new chapter of our journey together.
